Must eat in Korea : Samgyeopsal (grilled pork belly)

I'm pretty sure you have a plan to have a Korean BBQ when you are travelling Seoul.

This place is good for tourists who are first to try Samgyeopsal in Korea.

Reason #1 : Convenient.
Compared to other typical BBQ restaurants, servers here grill the meat for customers.
(Just so you know for ppl who are not used to Korean culture,
a majority of the BBQ restaurant in Korea let you cook your own meat.)

Reason #2 : Variety of condiments and side dishes.
This place apparently cares about food pairing!
Sauce, veggies, noodles and soups.. The variety will make your food experience more interesting and entertaining.

I would definitely go on a date to this place because the place was very clean and neat,
and employees were very kind and gentle made me feel like I'm having a luxury dining experience.

- Menus

Here's a menu of Gogong.

They have pork and beef menu, but I guess their main is pork.
What I ordered was the pork set of Boston butt, pork belly, pork cheek, and grilled mushroom.

Jjolmyun of Gogong at Geondae, Gwangjin-gu

I ordered Jjolmyeon which is a chewy glass noodle with spicy gochujang-based sauce.
(Gochujang is a korean traditional chili sauce that has sweet and spicy taste.)

Grilled pork and Jjolmyeon are a great classic combination, so I totally recommend to give it a try!

- Condiments and Side dishes

These side dishes and condiments are for free when you order a set.

#1. Yuja(Yuzu) chili : It tastes good together with fatty part of meat, like ogyeopsal. It adds a fresh, fruity flavour to pork.

#2. Garlic saeujeot : This condiment taste like a oil pasta sauce that has shrimp and garlic added.
Saeujeot is a salted shrimp preserved sauce. It might sound risky, but it could be your favorite!

#3. Wasabi : If you have ever tried Japanese food, you might know what wasabi is. It's also a great choice for fatty meat.
(The best is with beef tho)

#4. Ssamjang : Ssamjang is a traditional Korean sauce that has sweet and savory flavour.
I haven't seen anyone who is not into this sauce.
You are gonna love it! It's a typical BBQ sauce in Korea.

Other side dishes are veggies / salads that goes well with meat.

I love how thick this meat is.
For me, when I choose the BBQ restaurant the thickness of meat is the first thing I consider.

And this place serves a pretty thick pork.
