Airport Railroad - Express Train vs. All Stop Train

Faster way to go from Seoul Station to Incheon International Airport!



Did you know that Airport Railroad(AREX) has two types of train?

All Stop Train and Express Train.


Literally, All Stop Train stops at every station of Airport Railroad.
And Express Train goes back and forth between Seoul Station and Incheon International Airport Terminal 1 and 2.


Let me briefly explain the advantages and disadvantages of express train,
so that you can make a decision of which one to choose.



Advantages of Express Train :
#1. It is faster than All Stop Train, about 15 mins.
#2. You could take a seat 100%.
#3. Luggage compartment is in every cars.

Disadvantages of Express Train :
#1. Express train is almost twice as expensive as All Stop train.
#2. All Stop train departs more frequently than Express train.
(Express train departs every 35-40 mins.)



To reserve a ticket for express train, go to the website below.
Also, you can get a ticket through vending machine at the station as well.

Here's a procedure for a reservation :


1. Fill out the information (departure/arrival info).




2. Select the train schedule you want.




3. Log in as a member or a non-member. To login as a non-member, your email will be required.
  Enter 6 digit password to view your ticket.




4. You may pay with credit card or easy payment. Choose either.





5. You're able to check your reservation on the website and your email!






When you are boarding to the express train at Seoul Station or Incheon Airport Terminal,
follow the orange Express Train sign.

At the orange colored gate, scan the QR code of your ticket.

I took the express train on my way home from Incheon Airport,
and I felt pretty convenient compared to all stop train.
